The Pajama Drama

As any woman who is over 160cms tall and has lived in Japan knows - it can be difficult to find clothing here that will fit well. The cut of clothing tends to ignore limb length, hips and chest.
Now when you are almost 40 weeks pregnant it can be next to impossible to find clothing. I actually did some shopping while I was overseas - which let me tell you was bliss - so many normal stores had maternity sections! Wheee!
Anyway I needed to get some pajamas for my hospital stay. I didn’t want anything fancy - just simple cotton button down top and pants with elastic waist. I wasn’t even fussed if they were womens or mens. Apart from some thicker winter jammies I have I usually have been wearing big t-shirts and leggings. Except when you breast feed you don’t want to be mostly undressing right? You want more easy access to the boob area without having to get half undressed.
I went shopping with Yoshi and he really had no concept at all, and basically just got frustrated with me as I rejected every piece of clothing I saw. But seriously - pajamas here are obviously not worn by anyone under 60 years of age and 150cms tall it seems. And who love wearing baby pink…(>.
<)...
Anyway after days of frustration at not being able to just get something as simple as a pair of cotton button down pajamas - I turned to my old friend the internet. Not many major stores ship outside of the US unfortunately, so the option is to go with smaller stores. And there are many google pages to wander through to find what you are after. This time around the Australian online stores were disappointing and the UK - well that exchange rate is just a bit frightening at the moment….
But I was lucky and hit a good one. The site itself is a "bit" of a mess - but the customer service is good, they ship to Japan for a reasonable cost, and my new especially for nursing mothers jammies arrived very promptly in perfect condition. So I can recommend
Mommy Gear - if you find yourself in the same drama.
