snug
Elliot Mason slept the whole way to the supermarket and back in his sling. Unfortunately the sling is a bit of a back killer for me so have another carrier on order for longer hauls.

nice colors.

Hmm, back-killing is not cool! Oh well. I hope you can find something that is a bit easier. But yeah, the colours are brilliant! And Elliot looks sooooo cute!!!

at the risk of sounding like a shill, I’ve had great luck with the Moby wrap- it spreads the weight all over, so it doesn’t hurt your back/shoulders whatever. I am endlessly amused that we are finally coming around to babywearing, something women in traditional societies have been doing forever, and treating it like some fabulous new invention.

I’m not sure whether it just needs more breaking in or maybe it’s just going to work better when his bigger - or possibly that everything has been straining my back anyway - but I’m moving more towards the whole back-pack carrier deal so I can have him on me more often.
And yeah it’s interesting that “we” are going back to baby wearing - although there are lots of positives as to why it’s good. Elliot is never far from me generally even if he’s not on me as such though.

Its easy to assume that because you have been carrying the baby at the front of you for so long now, a sling will be easy to deal with and no big deal for your back. This is clearly not the case. On the whole, we tend to carry stuff with the weight on our shoulders but with the weight around the back and our stomachs pulling us upright. I can imagine that this would be a good way to go. Perhaps the sling could be revisited when Elliot can hold himself upright and you start hip-carrying?
