Riot at the Clinic
AKA How many nurses and doctors does it take to lose a newborn’s sock in one room?
We just got back from a checkup at the clinic. Elliot has expanded from 3192gs when he left the hospital to 3960gs today - and they are very pleased with his progress. As for everything else he is very healthy - especially his lungs. They found this out because they kept us waiting for an hour with him in the back room and me outside in the waiting room, and even though he’d been fed before going to the clinic, as soon as he was woken up there an hour later all hell broke loose until one nurse dashed to prepare him a little bottle. They all sighed with relief as he went back to calm happy baby. I explained that he had been fed before we got there and he doesn’t cry unless he’s hungry which is where you get total melt down. Fortunately they all smiled being used to dealing with unruly children.
I didn’t feel all that bad about it really. I hadn’t had any breakfast and was thinking about pulling the same stunt.
The doctor went through another bunch of test results for me and I’m healthy except I’m still anemic and have another round of these meds to take, which is not pleasant. A couple more weeks of black tar poo…. yays.
Oh yeah and the sock. I had searched a few stores for a simple pair of white socks. These had a cute puppy on the toes. I dressed Elliot up warmly in his bear trackie suit and with his new little puppy socks and then swaddled him before placing him in the sling. The nurses unwrapped and undressed him in one place. And somehow managed to lose a sock. They searched the room then asked me to search the sling and my bag - but the sock has eluded us all…... so the answer is 4 nurses, one doctor and a non-plussed mother…..

Next thing you know, one of the doctors has gone home with a puppy white sock attached to the butt of his pants.
