Living rough

image

5 minutes earlier this child had a clean nappy, was swaddled properly and covered with his blankie.

  • Just like daddy - except for the nappy bit.

    • Swaddling attempts have also failed on the father. Been tempted to try a straight jacket a few times though….

            • Unfortunately when the yellow line on the nappy goes green it means wee has taken place.

              • ::nods knowingly::

                That line between serene bliss and utter chaos is a mighty fine one when you’re dealing with a newborn.

                Has he peed on you yet?  That’s always a treat.

                  Heh. What does it do when poo has taken place?

                  It really is amazing how un-quiet newborns can be, even when they’re sleeping. They’re all grunts and spazzy arms and flailing legs. The swaddling blankets with Velcro work fairly well, but ours would still break out pretty quickly.

                  (Also, SQUEE SQUEE SQUEE.)

                  • Hmm possibly goes green too - we usually have a quick peek via one of the legs though.

                    And yes he is full of snorts and grunts and groans when he sleeps. It’s quite amusing.
