Yum! OK, now, I have to display my ignorance. What is the spongy stuff with the pink edge you sometimes find floating in ramen soup or miso? I think I see some on your plate.
-
Whoa! If my prison had chow like that, I wouldn’t be happy with an early release…
-
norm, that pink and white stuff is fish paste. It has different names depending on what shape it is. The spirally one you see in ramen is called naruto (whirlpool). The half round kind like in this photo is called kamaboko. But despite the different names, it is all made of ground up fish and starch.
MJ, I hope you are eating as much as you can now.

Wow. Fancy indeed! The hospital food we get here bears remarkable resemblance to what you see in prison movies.
*tries to steal gomi’s yummy-looking fried salmon*

Wow! That hospital food is *SO MUCH* better than when I was in hospital in Tokyo! Impressive!!
-
Yum! Looks like lots of yummy nutrition! Remember - you’re still eating for two!

Yum, food looks really good and good for you, also nicely presented. Glad you will also get an early escape. Love Ash
