We took him to the clinic because his fever kept climbing. Trying to find the clinic was a mini-drama in itself though. 2 different navi apps on the iPhone both but us out in the middle of extensive rice paddies and tiny winding roads through them. We were getting pretty frustrated until attempt #4 we got a slightly different direction and managed to stumble across it.

There was a tiny sign out the front of this large beige building. Which - apart from the rice paddies - blended right into the other surrounding large buildings - except those seemed to be small factories. The center had moved from a walkable distance from our apartment to well literally the middle of the rice paddies in outer Hiratsuka. It’s a nice new modern building with a large car park - I guess they expect more people drive around here. It means though we are limited to emergencies only if Yoshi is able to drive though.

Off to his normal clinic which is walking distance tomorrow for a check up. Poor little guy - he’s really not sure what is going on and not his usually smiley crazy self. He’s pretty tough though - no tears although we did not like the tongue depressor at all. The Doctor was pretty nice and friendly which was great - and was surprised by EM’s skimpy medical history. Even better he didn’t treat us like overly nervous first time having baby with a fever parents and told us we did the right thing.

One word of warning though if you go here to the Hiratsuka Hoken Center - watch out for the auto sliding doors! They split apart quickly and then do this weird rapid slow down. It’s fine if you are walking in the middle but if the are off on the side and matching strides you are likely to smack right into them like I did.

Ow.
